The area around
El Golfo, on the south western part of the island of
Lanzarote, is where you find the little green lake which has become a big tourist destination. The colour green comes from the high concentration of a special seaweed and algae which survives due to the high concentration of salt. The whole area is the inside of an old volcanic crater.
