The Arts of Embroidery (Tshemzo) is considered one of the 13 traditional arts taught in Bhutan. It was traditionally crafted only by men with religious background. The techniques origins from China and Tibet and was, and still is, used for banners and ceremonial clothes. Today girls are taught embroidery in the National Institute of Zorig Chusum in Thimphu where these photographs were taken in 2014.
