Pollution, Winter, Sarajevo. Part 2.

The app that tells us the AQI values describing air pollution continues to give values of over 300 in Sarajevo these days- it translates to: “Hazardous Effects on the entire population”. While watching a reportage about the forrest fires in Australia  it was mentioned people were getting worried in Sidney due to the degrading air quality…it reached 167 AQI.  Driving into Sarajevo, this is what the polluted morning looked like.

I wonder when finding a solutions to this will be on the agenda. It is urgent.

The football stadium and the sport centre Zetra can be seen in the smog bellow.
The sun is breaking through the smog early morning near Vogosca.

One of the main problems to the pollution is the way people heat their homes. Many uses coal. Old diesel cars adds to this problem.
It is recommended that people wear masks with such high level of pollution. Or stay at home.
As humidity raises, the pollution stays with the morning mist.
Not easy to see the city laying in the background.
Few people are wearing protective masks. Healthcares issues can take years to be noticed.
Solutions are possible, political will is necessary. The parliament building is across the street in this building. I am photographing from outside Hotel Holiday...just opposite the parliament.
